Hi, I’m James, a photographer and writer born and raised in the heart of Uganda. My journey has taken me all over the world, capturing raw moments and telling stories through my lens. I’m the curator behind The Candid Times, a website dedicated to showcasing real, unscripted moments that speak volumes.

With a deep passion for music, art, coffee and reading, I’ve always been drawn to the stories that exist in the smallest details- whether it’s a fleeting expression, the rhythm of life, or the perfect shot that captures the essence of a moment. I graduated with a bachelors degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Victoria University in kampala, where I dove into the creative scene, blending the art of storytelling with the power of visual expression.

For me photography is more than just taking pictures, it’s about curating aesthetically driven visual storytelling that connects with the viewer on a deeper level. Every shot is a narrative-every subject, a piece of the bigger picture. My goal is to capture life as it is, in its most beautiful, raw, and candid form and to bring those moment to life through every frame.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me sipping on coffee, listening to music, or getting lost in a good book. Life is a series of stories waiting to be told, and am here to tell them, one candid shot at a time.
